Artificial intelligence fascinates us as much as it worries us. One thing is certain: it is inexorably creeping into our lives, impossible to escape. Will it soon have the ability to feel emotions? Will it ever become conscious?
Rest assured, that day will not come! The development of artificial intelligence has been driven by the dream of recreating the properties of the human brain. Yet, biological neural processes are far more complex and sophisticated than those of artificial neural networks. In reality, AI and the brain are two completely different and irreconcilable entities. Intelligence and consciousness are unique properties of living beings. The real danger lies elsewhere.
By relying frequently on AI, we deprive our brain of stimulation. The result? Our cognitive faculties atrophy, and we risk becoming less able to think for ourselves. This is especially concerning for young people, whose brains are still developing.
